Landmark Cinemas Canada reaches agreement to purchase Magic Lantern Theatres' Brighton Marketplace Cinema in Saskatoon

Landmark Cinemas Canada is pleased to announce the company has reached an agreement to acquire Magic Lantern Theatres’ Brighton Marketplace cinema in Saskatoon.

Brighton Marketplace, a Dream and Wilson partnership, is Saskatoon’s premier shopping centre within Dream Development’s master-planned community of Brighton. Currently under construction, Landmark Cinemas anticipates a June 2018 grand opening. The theatre will continue to feature seven screens, 780 premium recliner seats and the added convenience of complimentary reserved seating.

As Saskatoon’s newest community, Brighton is redefining what it means to be connected by integrating residential, retail, business and entertainment offerings into one central neighbourhood. With over 240,000 square feet of retail and amenity space, Dream Centres has strategically selected the tenant offering in the Brighton Marketplace to ensure it will serve community residents for years to come.

“Saskatoon has always been a priority market in Landmark’s growth strategy, and our acquisition of Magic Lantern’s theatre at the Brighton Marketplace represented the perfect opportunity to realize our plans,” said Bill Walker, CEO of Landmark Cinemas.

“We are excited to introduce residents of Brighton, and the greater Saskatoon market, to Landmark’s premium movie-going experience featuring luxury, fully-powered recliner seating with the added convenience of complimentary reserved seating. With its convenient access, free parking and its location adjacent to Wilson’s Entertainment Park, Brighton Marketplace is the ideal spot for Landmark to entertain the Movie Lovers of Saskatoon. We understand why Magic Lantern selected this location.”
