Marvel star Pom Klementieff in talks for DC role
Marvel star Pom Klementieff is in talks for a role at rival superhero firm DC.
The 38-year-old actress plays Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - including 2017’s 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' and 2023’s 'Vol. 3' - and she has spilled that she has been having discussions with DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn about being in the DCEU as "one specific character", however, she is keeping tight-lipped on who it is.
Appearing at San Antonio’s Superhero Comic Con, Pom was quizzed on who she wants to play and replied: “Do you really think I’m going to answer this question?”
She continued: “I just want to keep working with James, so we’re going to keep trying to find ways to do that.
“Yes, we’ve been talking about one specific character, but I can’t talk about that right now.”
Gunn of course penned and helmed all three 'Guardians of the Galaxy' movies for Marvel, whilst he also directed 2021’s 'The Suicide Squad' for DC.
In 2022, Warner Bros. Discovery hired Gunn and Peter Safran to become co-chairmen and co-CEOs of DC Studios. The pair are heading up the soft reboot of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). His upcoming movies include 2025's 'Superman'.
As for Pom, she's got the eighth 'Mission: Impossible' film next year, in which she plays French assassin Paris.
