I'm 'down' to record the next Bond theme song, says Lashana Lynch
Lashana Lynch is "down" to record the next James Bond theme song.
The 36-year-old actress starred as Nomi, a new 007 agent, in 2021's 'No Time to Die', and Lashana has now revealed that she would relish the opportunity to record the next Bond theme tune, after performing in 'Bob Marley: One Love', the new biographical musical drama film.
Asked about the possibility of recording the next Bond theme, Lashana told On Demand Entertainment: "Oh my gosh - could you let them know!
"I can write a tune or two and do that. Yeah, yeah, sure. I'd be down. I'd be down.
"That's a great ... great idea. That is. Now I'm like, 'OK, now I must write that down to make sure [Bond producer] Barbara Broccoli knows."
'No Time to Die' marked Daniel Craig's last-ever appearance as 007.
And Lashana admitted in 2021 that she was very open-minded about the actor's potential replacement.
Speaking to the Guardian newspaper, she explained: "We are in a place in time where the industry is not just giving audiences what it thinks the audience wants. They’re actually giving the audience what they want to give the audience."
Lashana also believes that the long-running film franchise will always have a huge following - regardless of who plays Bond.
The London-born actress said: "With Bond, it could be a man or woman. They could be white, black, Asian, mixed race. They could be young or old. At the end of the day, even if a two-year-old was playing Bond, everyone would flock to the cinema to see what this two-year-old’s gonna do, no?"
