'I know nothing!': Joel McHale addresses rumoured Jurassic World Rebirth casting
Joel McHale has denied claims that he is going to star in 'Jurassic World Rebirth'.
The 'Community' star, 52, was rumoured to have joined the upcoming blockbuster but insists that the stories about his casting in the movie are nothing but hearsay.
When Collider asked the actor whether he was in 'Rebirth', he said: "If you know something that would be great. Because I don’t know anything. I know nothing! I don’t know; no one’s asked me."
'The Bear' actor – who has children Edward, 19, and Isaac, 16, with his wife Sarah Williams – joked his youngest son had teased him about the rumours when stories about McHale's casting began to circulate online.
He laughed: "My 16-year-old was making fun of me. He was like, 'Hey Dad, I heard you’re gonna be in 'Jurassic World'. Boy, how wrong are they, huh?'
"And I was like, 'Okay, kid … No, I have not heard — no, I don’t know where that started.'"
If 'The Soup' star's rumoured casting turns out to be true, the actor would be joining the likes of Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey and Scarlett Johansson in the upcoming blockbuster, which is being helmed by 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' director Gareth Edwards and is due to hit theatres in July 2025.
Previously, 39-year-old Johansson had gushed about appearing in the franchise and admitted she had been fighting for a part in the series for 15 years.
During an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon', she told the host: "I have been trying to get in the franchise for like 15 years, like, really to do anything at all. I mean, I would happily die immediately."
The 'Avengers: Endgame' star joked she was so excited to have landed a role in 'Rebirth' that she had to be reminded to pretend to be scared of the dinosaurs during some scenes.
She said: "So, with every single shot of the movie, I'm like this (staring in awe). They're like, 'No, fear, fear is in your eyes!'"
